Kedleston Park Golf Club

STATEMENT FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Dear Members

I’m sure that most or all of you will be aware of the Prime Minister’s address to the nation this evening. These are indeed dark times and we have all been instructed to, wherever possible, “stay at home”

It is allowed for people to exercise alone, unless it is with other members of their household, once a day. This could be interpreted that it would be possible to play golf alone, but this would require staff members to be at work and would encourage members to travel and interact and as a consequence a potential spread of infection.  I do not believe that in these circumstances we can allow the golf course to remain open and for this reason I regret to advise you that Kedleston Park Golf Club is closed with immediate effect.

Robert Simpson is working closely with Mark Hillaby to establish what work can be continued to enable the course to be maintained in reasonable condition to be ready for when we can play again.

Over the next few days we will be contacting those members who may require assistance with essential and/or medical supplies to see if we can supply that assistance within the new guidelines but if you are aware of any member with those needs please let us know by email.

I hope that the crisis facing us will not last too long and that you and your families remain healthy and positive.

With all best wishes

Ian Neal

Chairman KPGC
