Kedleston Park Welcomes Back WESSELINGH AND RUSSELL FOR Charity Skins Match

 

Kedleston Park, Derbyshire’s premier golf club, has announced a Skins Match between four current and former players in aid of charity.  

 

On Friday 28th March 2014, former Head professional, European Tour Committee member and European Senior Tour Chairman DJ Russell, 2013 European Senior Tour Order of Merit winner Paul Wesselingh, Current Head Professional and 2013 Lombard Trophy winner Ian Walley and Junior Member and 2013 McEvoy Trophy winner Bradley Moore, will take part in the inaugural Skins Match designed to raise funds for the Captain’s Charity, Parkinsons Society.

 

2013 was one of the most successful years in Kedleston Park’s history, with Wesselingh, Walley and Moore all collecting some silverware on their travels. 15-year-old junior member, Bradley Moore, became one of the youngest ever winners of the McEvoy Trophy, while Ian Walley won the coveted Lombard Trophy for the second year running as well the PGA Pro-Captain Challenge. Wesselingh won the ISPS HANDA PGA Seniors Championship, Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open, Fubon Senior Open as well as MCB Tour Championship on his way to securing the European Senior Tour Order of Merit title.

 

Ian Neal, Kedleston Park Chairman, said “Kedleston Park has always been renowned for producing great players, but no one could have predicted the success of 2013. We wanted to mark the milestone and what better way to do that than by getting together the players, and their silverware, for a Skins Match in aid of Charity.”

 

The Skins Match will be played over the first 12 holes of stunning Kedleston Park Golf Course and £50 will be up for grabs on each of the first 3 holes, £100 on holes 4-6, £150 on holes 7-9 and £200 from holes 10-12.  All funds will be split between, the Captain’s Charity and Charity of the winners’ choice. Kedleston Park General Manager and 2014 Ryder Cup Referee, Robert Simpson, will referee the match, which starts at 2pm. Admission is free and open to all members, guests and the public.   

 

Kedleston Park Golf Club is a mature parkland championship golf course set in the grounds of Kedleston Hall and offers a competitive, but friendly and welcoming, environment for golfers of all levels.
