Bradley Moore leads the way to Derbyshire’s qualification

The England Golf Midlands Boys County Regional Qualifying was held on 28th May 2014 at Greetham Valley in Lincolnshire.

Bradley lead the way to Derbyshire successfully qualifying for the Finals by coming first in the individual with the only sub-par 36 hole score of the day.  In doing so he retained the Terry Arnold Trophy which he won last year at Whittlebury Park.

Bradley was ably supported by Kedleston’s Will Painter with the rest of the team made up by Jamie Booth (Chesterfield), Will Davidson (Breadsall), Ben Higgins (Cavendish) and Josh Thorley (Broughton Heath).

With five scores to count from each of the morning and afternoon rounds, the final Derbyshire Boys’ total of 761 was just one shot better than Lincolnshire and two better than Leicestershire and Rutland.  At lunch the team was 4 shots behind Leicestershire but in the afternoon came in 7 shots better.  Lincolnshire after a poor morning score almost stole the show by improving by 22 shots in the afternoon.

The Derbyshire team now go forward to the Finals at Sandiway in August.  This will be Derbyshire’s second appearance in the final in the last five years.
